Dear NFT enthusiast,
Just when you thought the decentralized social landscape had reached its peak, along comes Friend.tech, shattering expectations and setting new benchmarks for the crypto world. Launched less than two weeks ago, the decentralized social (DeSo) platform has already generated over $1 million in fees within a single day, leaving even established giants like Uniswap and the Bitcoin network trailing in its wake.
Built on Coinbase's layer-2 Base, Friend.tech isn't your run-of-the-mill social network. It allows users to tokenize their social connections, offering "shares" that enable direct messaging and create a whole new avenue for social interaction. With over 650,000 transactions and 60,000 unique traders, the platform has become a bustling marketplace where social connections are not just made but also traded.
The brainchild of the pseudonymous developer Racer, who has a history of creating NFT-based social networks, Friend.tech is aiming high. It targets crypto influencers looking to monetize their extensive fan base through trading fees and Web3 projects aiming to forge stronger ties with venture capitalists and key industry players.
With the arrival of Friend.tech, we're left pondering the ethical and social implications of monetizing social interactions. Yet, there's no denying that Friend.tech represents another leap in how blockchain technology can transform the way we connect, interact, and even profit from our social networks.
Thank you for reading and have a great week.
