NFT Review #11: Dawn of the Art Legos

NFT Review is a weekly newsletter covering NFTs in the Web3 ecosystem on Polkadot’s side of the woods. The newsletter is put together by Bruno Škvorc and gbaci.

Looking for a primer on NFTs? This should be the last introduction you’ll ever need.

Dear NFT enthusiast,

It was another eventful week for the NFT industry, with more extravagant sales figures for digital collectibles and multimillion-dollar funding for NFT projects. In such a climate, it’s easy to get lost in the figures while ignoring the tech—which is far more important. Without advancement in NFT tech, there will be little possibility for greater adoption.

This is why the most standout event for us this week had nothing to do with $$ but with a glimpse of the possibilities inherent in RMRK 2.0, dubbed the most advanced NFT system in the world.

In particular, the youtube video posted by RMRK shows how a metaverse economy would be facilitated by the dawn of the art legos—a fancy name for RMRK’s stack of advanced NFT features like NFTs owning other NFTs, NFTs as DAOs, multi-resource NFTs, etc. We highly recommend watching the video to expand your mind towards the greater possibilities of this revolutionary technology.

Thank you for reading and have a great week.

👨🏼‍🎨  RMRK Artist Spotlight: Thomas Jerrykson and his Cult Movies Series

In this week’s edition of RAS, we interviewed the freelance illustrator and character designer Thomas Jerrykson. We first noticed Thomas through his submissions to the Kanaria art contest.

His birds were incredibly imaginative, earning him two slots in the final 40 that were selected. We had a lengthy chat about how he got into art, his creative process, his misgivings about the current state of crypto art, and a lot more, including his upcoming Cult Movies Series.

Read the interview here.

Looks like Three Arrows Capital is the whale behind the 88 and 12 cryptopunk market buys. They now have 100 cryptopunks after paying @Mining_DAO 5 ETH to transact each set of transactions all in one block so they wouldn’t get frontrun. @kyled116 @zhusu congrats, this is huge. https://t.co/UdncgwbpB5
