Dear NFT enthusiast,
Last week, ETH burning spiked to a new all-time-high on the back of Yuga Labs’ Otherdeeds NFT sale. Heavily anticipated prior to launch, the sale burned up 55,816 ETH (~$157m). That’s a gobsmacking amount to pay for gas.
In response to the prevailing negative sentiments after the sale, Yuga Labs hinted at their own chain, or at least, a move away from the Ethereum mainnet. Anything to reduce the cost is a good move. With wealth inequality rampant, it seems unethical to burn up so much value when it can be done for less.
Following the sale, a metaverse map was released featuring 100k lands rendered in interactive 3D. The experience is pretty smooth. It is interesting to see how it develops from here on out.
Thank you for reading and have a great week.
