Dear NFT enthusiast,
A new Binance Market Pulse was released on Oct. 20, revealing that there has been a slow and steady change in NFT market leadership. It stated that while OpenSea is still the dominant marketplace in terms of users and volume, fierce competition within the Ethereum ecosystem and beyond is taking from OS’s pie.
On the home front, X2Y2 and LooksRare are the main challengers, while from beyond, the competition is spearheaded by Solana’s Magic Eden. The data shows Solana’s NFT sales volume increased by 13% in Q3 while Ethereum’s dropped by 16% since the end of the second quarter.
If Solana x Magic Eden’s rise in the NFT sales chart has taught us anything, it is that in crypto (as in most of life and business) the #1 spot is not guaranteed to anyone regardless of the first mover’s advantage. Thus, as an early adopter, if you have a conviction on the superior strengths of an ecosystem/protocol/team/product, don’t be afraid to back them even when it seems they are too far from the ‘top’. The future is built by dreamers, workers, and believers.
Thank you for reading and have a great week.
