Dear NFT enthusiast,
Yuga Labs recently launched a new collection called Sewer Passes. These were rolled out on Wednesday for owners of Bored Ape or Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs and serve as an access pass to the Dookey Dash web game. Only Ape NFT owners can mint a free pass, but the passes can then be freely resold through secondary marketplaces.
But with this launch, Yuga Labs did something that has not been done before.
Late last year, when marketplaces were planning to boycott creator royalties, Yuga Labs made their position clear: they didn’t love it. Thus, it was no surprise that YL blocked secondary trading of the Sewer Passes on certain marketplaces.
It is good to see the leading NFT creator fight back against the greed of marketplaces.
Thank you for reading and have a great week.
