Looking for a primer on NFTs? This should be the last introduction you’ll ever need.
Dear NFT enthusiast,
According to a DappRadar report, NFT sales reached a staggering 101 million in 2022, proving that despite the bear, the NFT market is on an upward trajectory. However, with this growth comes new challenges. The recent loss of $1.1 million in NFTs by Moonbirds creator Kevin Rose, as well as the $758K theft from Azuki's Twitter account in just 30 minutes, highlight the need for increased caution and security in the NFT market.
Although it is easy to succumb to fear after reading news like these, we mustn’t let that stop us from continuing to drive innovation and push the boundaries of what is possible with NFTs. That said, we should allow that fear to drive us to take the necessary steps to protect our ‘investments’. To protect your NFTs, it is crucial to establish good wallet security habits. These include:
Using a secure, reliable NFT wallet service.
Keeping your private keys and seed phrases private and secure.
Regularly checking your transactions and balances to ensure there are no unauthorized activities.
Keeping your software and operating system up to date with the latest security patches.
Avoiding phishing scams by verifying the source of any requests for personal information.
By being proactive and responsible, we can safely (as can be reasonably managed) participate in this growing and exciting industry.
Thank you for reading and have a great week.
